There is a broad and varied choice of accommodation available in Pisa. The majority of the hotels and other accommodation facilities (residence, guesthouse, bed & breakfast) are concentrated in the central station and Leaning Tower areas.

PISA CITY TAX: According to the City Council resolution N° 56 of December 21st 2011, since 1st March 2012 Pisa introduced a CITY TAX, applied to NON residents overnight staying, for a maximum of 3 consecutive nights during the low season and for a maximum of 5 consecutive nights during the high season. The tourism tax for 4* hotels is € 2,00 per night per person, for 3* hotels is € 1,50 per night per person to be paid at the check-out.
The Residence le Benedettine, the guesthouse of the University of Pisa, located on the bank of the river Arno, provides accommodation for both Italian and international students, researchers and professors. On the website (http://en.residence.unipi.it/home_en/) it is possible to view the special rates and book the stay. No breakfast is included, but rooms have kitchen.
